Counsellors use various approaches when working with clients, and as a qualified psychotherapeutic Integrative Counsellor, I understand this can be confusing. What is an Integrative Counsellor? It means I use different theories from different types of therapy to tailor my approach specifically for you.
"Counselling is a talking therapy that involves a trained therapist listening to you and helping you find ways to deal with emotional issues".
To be specific, in my practice as a counsellor I draw from Person-Centered Theory, Psychodynamic Theory, Transactional Analysis and some elements of CBT. I am also drawn to the Transpersonal aspects of therapy which seeks to facilitate personal growth and deeper meaning as a person, honouring all aspects of the human experience.
We are all uniquely different as are our experiences in life. As your counsellor I will respectfully and thoughtfully tailor our sessions to meet your unique needs. My role isn't to tell you what to do; instead, we can work together to explore, understand or perhaps process your experiences, your past pain, challenges, changes, thoughts, emotions or behaviours.
I offer a respectful, safe, and calm environment where you can explore whatever you choose, at your own pace. Ultimately you are in control of what you choose to share with me and talk about.
As a counsellor, my practice is respectful and without judgement. I am dedicated to providing a warm, compassionate and empathic therapeutic relationship; one where you feel both understood and supported.
